How To Distinguish Good Vs. Bad Solar Lights?

January 18, 2017

World is facing the challenges of global warming and depletion of fossil fuels which is translated as lack or exhaustion of non-renewable energy sources. This has imposed a challenge for the engineers, designers and developers to figure out ways to consumer the renewable energy source in a way that will not only be environmental friendly but should also have cost effective and affordable nature, in order to be appreciated in the market. This has lead to the development of the solar power generated LED.

Solar Light Suppliers

There are many solar light suppliers to choose from; therefore it is important that the person should have a fairly well idea of what is good and what is bad, so as to allow them to make the right choice. Here are some of the recommendations to help you distinguish good cells from bad.

  1. Compact Assembly: it means that the quality of the assembly should be high. Avoid the low priced or cheap fixtures that can be popped on just by twisting and it press locks. The better option should be to go for one that is fixed by screw and is wither soldered or is welded together.
  2. Batteries: They are the life-blood of the whole unit and therefore should have to be of very good quality so that the whole unit can function well. There are many different types to choose from. For example;
  • Lead acid batteries they are of low quality.
  • Nickel Cadmium batteries better than lead acid but are highly toxic.
  • Nickel Metal Hydride - these are the best with superior efficiency and a comparatively high life expectancy; also they are less toxic than the later.
  1. Connection: It is wise to choose from the units that have the option of putting together multiple fixtures into a central PV panel, so that they would be convenient and easy to install and the user will not have to pay extra for fixing.
  2. Fixtures: The duration of the unit of the life expectancy of it depends upon how well they are installed. Those units that are poorly installed often result in the recurrent jarring of the lights and thus can result in more damage due to this property of physical abuse. Therefore it is wise to choose for the one that is long and wide spike.
